“These sculptures address connection through time and space. They are self-portraits of Nava as lineal artifacts, indicating that our features are sacred living archives of the eternal connections, DNA, and histories that survive through us. Through these works, we follow Nava into a realm where she has learned not only to transcend the limits of separation from physical matter, but dissolve the boundary of time, suggesting that the border between ourselves and our ancestors who have passed is all but illusory”.
