The series explores the nature of impermanence, a subject that is deeply rooted in the history of art and we all experience during our lifetime. The central theme in my paintings is the fragility of the human condition. Despite the severity of my subject, there is liveliness in choosing a specific seductive bright palette that aspires to embrace the moments of celebration in our life. This poetic content is especially evident in the birds’ paintings. Their quiet resonance and space depicted with no formal limits is defined only by the presence of the animal itself. I keep expanding this imagery, reflecting on our own mundane existence in all its complexities, in attempt to transform it into a very intense, almost seductive tangible experience.
